The Dump outside TegucigalpaMissions exists because this shouldn't. Serving lunch to the people who live and scavenge in the dump outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

"Missions exists because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man."
(John Piper from Let the Nations be Glad!)

The goal of the missions committee is to mobilize our church to reach beyond our comfort zone and work to see new churches and worshippers of God emerge in cultures that are different from our own. Just as we have been blessed by the gospel, we want others to experience the blessing of the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord.

To accomplish these goals the missions committee works to:

  • Create awareness in the church of both Christians and non-Christians from different cultural backgrounds who live in our community.
  • Assist people who would like to go on short-term mission trips.
  • Partner with missionaries who work both locally and internationally by supporting them financially and praying for them.
  • Create church-owned missions projects. Our first project is the Tolupan Project, a partnership to create sustainable communities and multiply churches among the Tolupan people of Honduras.
